Hunt Is On To Find Gold Nugget Worth $50,000 After It Fell Out Of Car Travelling On Aussie Highway

A reward is waiting for the person who finds it.

Some parts of Australia are desolate landscapes that are reminiscent of Tatooine from Star Wars. Barren areas with just a small strip of bitumen that runs through the area to connect towns and cities to one another with just a bit of bush either side.

While there usually isn't usually much to look out for on these incredibly long and vast roads and highways, there is a small item of value that is very much being missed.

Wrapped in a little, black, velvet bag is a gold nugget worth around $50,000.

It was travelling in a car on the Great Northern Highway in Western Australia when, for whatever reason, it fell from the vehicle.

Authorities believe that the nugget is around the Wubin area, which is around 263km north-north east of Perth.

Thankfully they've managed to narrow the search area as the Great Northern Highway runs for a little more than 3,200km. That would have taken a very dedicated search party to find it.

Western Australia Police uploaded a call to arms to anyone who might have come across the velvet bag in the area.

"Lost Gt Northern Hwy, Wubin area, gold nugget $50K (similar in pic)," Dalwallinu police posted on Twitter. "Reward on offer."

It's a long and lonesome road.

A reward you say? Wonder what the reward would be for a golden nugget worth some people's salary for the year.

One person replied to the call out on social media with a simple: "Good luck with that."

To be honest, whoever goes out looking for it will need a hell of a lot of good luck.

If you've ever wanted a quick buck and have time up your sleeve and live in Western Australia then you could get to work.

Sadly, the state is still locked off to the rest of Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic and people are only allowed in if they fit a certain criteria. We highly doubt 'hunting for a golden nugget' will tick any box on that list.
