We've all experienced some dodgy first dates, but a woman in the UK has gone viral with her recollection of what happened after she met up with a bloke.

Incredibly, the man asked her to pay him back for a coffee when she said the vibes weren't strong enough to warrant a second date.

Things started calmly enough, with the unnamed man suggesting a second catchup after he thought their first meet-up went well.

But things took a turn when Twitter user @LaurenNotLozza rebuffed him and said that while she enjoyed the date she didn't feel any chemistry.

From there, the man suggested they head to his house for date two and offers to cook her dinner.

Lauren said she wasn't comfortable going to a stranger's house for dinner, which a fair call by anyone's standards, and her date resorted to reclaiming expenditures.

"Ok, fair enough. Can you pay me back for your coffee? I don't like wasting money. Prefer to use it on a date with someone else," he said.

In a miraculously measured response, Lauren says it's a shame that he considers the date a 'waste' because his preferred outcome wasn't reached and offers to donate the £3.50 to charity, plus £1.50 to cover his bus fare.

But the charitable offer didn't satisfy Lauren's date and he rejected her suggestion, saying he would 'like to decide' what he did with his money and adding his bank details.

To really add to the story of the coffee shop lothario, Lauren believed he has done the same move on other women.

She said multiple other ladies have reached out to her complaining of similar demands being made.

"Other women got in touch with me over the years to cross reference the name and number and it was him. It's his MO," she says.

There are even women in Lauren's replies who relate to the story, saying they may have been on a date before with the same chap.

Her tweet also sparked a debate about who pays on the first date, with some replies saying if the pair had split the coffee order there wouldn't have been a need for an invoice.

Either way, it' probably fair to say Lauren dodged a bullet on this one...
