Man Slammed For Accusing Aussie Stay-At-Home Mums Of Being ‘Lazy Gold Diggers’

"Jonathan … Maaaaate! Seriously?”

A man has blown up an Aussie mums Facebook page for alleging the female stay-at-home parents are lazy.

The bloke known only as Jonathan sent a private message to the administrators of the Stay At Home Mum page, who then decided to make the DM public.

The admins wrote: "We don't get many entertaining messages like this very often (we used to get heaps!) but we were so amused by this one, that we just had to post it up. Jonathan ... Maaaaate! Seriously?"

According to the page, Jonathan alleged stay at home mums essentially just mooch off their partners and do nothing all day.

He also made the bold statement that they're nothing but gold diggers for chilling out at home while the husband does all the work.

The troll wrote: "This encourages females not to be in the workplace and to rely on men. No I'm not a feminist.

"I just think women shouldn't be lazy. Men take care of kids and work a full-time job. Why shouldn't the females bring in half their weight as well?"

He added that a relationship should see both people give 50/50 to make a sound household, writing: "Taking advantage of someone and treating a man like a bank is not OK. It's gold digging and it's being someone who uses others."

This really harks back to the idea that a stay at home mum is lounging around watching Netflix or popping the cork on a beautiful new wine at midday.

It doesn't take into account the hours of household chores that the man at work doesn't have to do, like folding, washing, cleaning, tidying, rearranging, building, cooking, and all the rest.

Jonathan quickly attracted hundreds of comments from angry stay at home mums and even some others who believe the bloke was way out of line for the statement.

One person wrote: "Jonathan clearly doesn't understand the expense of childcare. I have five kids and now with 3.5 in school (our fourth goes two to three days a week, alternating weeks)."

"We looked at me returning to work and the cost of childcare for it. We worked out that my wages would basically pay childcare or we might walk away with $100-$200/week. Wasn't worth the while or hassle. Grow up Jonathan!"

Another added: "What the ever loving f**k? My husband worked and I stayed home caring for the family, allowing him to focus single-mindedly on his career. A marriage is a partnership, not a business arrangement."

So maybe next time you feel like criticising stay at home parents you might want to think about all the things they do while you go to the office.
