Putin Issues Menacing Warning To West After US, Europe Supply Ukraine With Weapons

Putin Issues Menacing Warning To West After US, Europe Supply Ukraine With Weapons

A Russian propagandist added that 'only a couple of mutants' would survive a possible nuclear attack in the latest grim threat.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a stark warning to the West over supplying Ukraine with more weapons.

Russia claims it will expand its list of targets if long-range missiles are supplied to the war-torn nation, as Putin's invasion of Ukraine rages on.

In an interview with Russian state television, Putin hit out at the West for prolonging his invasion of Ukraine.

"In general, all this fuss about additional arms supplies, in my opinion, has only one goal - to drag out the armed conflict as long as possible," Putin said, as per the BBC.

He then issued a warning against Western-supplied long-range missiles.

Putin added: "If they are supplied, we will draw appropriate conclusions from this and use our weapons, of which we have enough, to strike at those targets that we are not striking yet."

Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, also known as Putin's mouthpiece, reinforced the Kremlin's capability and willingness to use nuclear weapons if the Western threat persists.

“If people weren’t dying, this would be the funniest comedy,” he said, as per a translation by Russian Media Monitor.

He added that the planet is edging closer to another 'bloody page of world history'.

Solovyov said the US and UK’s latest pledge of support for Ukraine was a sign of escalation for Moscow.

“I hope we’ll live through this. If everything keeps progressing the way that it is, only a couple of mutants in Lake Baikal will survive; the rest will be destroyed in a massive nuclear strike,” Solovyov said.

“Everything is moving in that direction regardless of what either side wants.”

The ominous threats from Russia come as the US and UK have confirmed they will send long-range arms to Russia.

As per the BBC, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed they will supply M270 multiple-launch rocket systems to Ukraine.

The UK government did not confirm the number of weapons that will be sent to bolster the Ukrainian defence.

The US announced on May 31 in the New York Times that it would also supply rocket systems to Ukraine.

The move to supply more weapons comes after Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar called on the West to keep up a steady supply of weapons to use in the ongoing invasion.

"We have already entered into a protracted war and we will need constant support," Malyar told local media, as per the BBC.

"The West must understand that its help cannot be a one-time thing, but something that continues until our victory."
