A cargo ship carrying around 4,000 vehicles has been abandoned at sea and is being ravaged by fire while floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Portugal.
The almost-200-metre-long ship, known as Felicity Ace, is reportedly carrying over 1,000 Porches and almost 200 Bentleys.
News.com.au reported the values of the Bentleys could total over $41 million locally.
The ship was carrying other Volkswagen Group vehicles including those under the Audi, Lamborghini and Volkswagen brands, and was en route from Germany to the US.
The 22-member crew has been rescued and there are no reports of injuries.
It's not yet clear how authorities will tend to the damaged ship or how they'll recover any undamaged vehicles, if at all.
According to The New York Times, a Porsche spokesperson encouraged customers who are worried about their car's arrival to contact their dealer directly.
"Our immediate thoughts are of relief that the 22 crew members of the merchant shp Felicity Ace are safe and well," the spokesperson added.
