People who lived in New South Wales couldn't believe their eyes when McDonald's started selling delicious, little nuggets of joy with an accompanying heavenly sauce for just $2.

Residents outside of the most populated state in Australia were devastated that they would either have to pack up their things and move to Sydney or pull off some ninja-level skills to sneak across the closed borders to get a taste.

When they first debuted, albeit way more secretly than a normal McDonald's addition, people went wild.

One person said: "Doughnut Balls from Macca's. I've died and gone to heaven."

Another added: "Did anyone else know you could get Doughnut Balls from McDonald's? Today is a good day!"

But, thankfully the gods at Macca's Australia have decided to roll out their doughnut balls and chocolate sauce across the country.

A spokesperson has told news.com.au that they will soon be gracing the menu in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, the ACT, the NT, Western Australia and Tasmania in 'the coming weeks'.

That could be in two weeks or it could be in 20. The exact timing isn't clear so we'll just have to sit back and patiently wait for these bad boys to arrive.

In the meantime, it's worth noting that the fast food empire has decided to help people during isolation tick off a few grocery list items while they're going through drive-thru.

It was incredibly difficult to your hands on basic items at the grocery store due to the overwhelming demand from people staying at home.

To remedy that situation, Macca's said it would offering a few additional items on the menu.

A spokesperson said: "Anyone who comes to a Macca's for our contactless drive-through or takeaway service will now be able to pick-up milk, English muffins, bread rolls and eggs.

"We're also now able to provide more milk options to customers with the addition of almond, soy and lactose free milk cartons to the menu."

It's not known how long Macca's will continue doing this but it's always handy to know.
