New South Wales Police have charged two men with torturing an injured kangaroo in the Central Tablelands area.
A 26-year-old man was arrested in Orange over firearm, drug and traffic issues and authorities seized his phone to conduct their investigation.
However, when they examined what was on the device, they allegedly found sickening footage of the man's alleged involvement in a kangaroo.

Police will allege the phone had footage of kangaroos being shot in the Mullion State Forest, north of Orange, as well as an act of cruelty upon an injured kangaroo.
He was taken into custody in Wellington last week and has since been charged with numerous offences.
The 26-year-old is facing offences related to torture and cause prolonged suffering to animal, commit act of cruelty on animal, hunt animal in forestry area, possess shortened firearm, two counts of possess unregistered firearm, two counts of possess unauthorised firearm, two counts of not keep firearm safe, two counts of possess ammunition without licence, two counts of acquire firearm subject to Prohibition Order, and finally two counts of acquire ammunition subject to Prohibition Order.
After a court appearance last week he was remanded in custody and will appear in court again in late March.

Police have also arrested and charged another man, 27, in Newcastle who they believe is related to some of the crimes.
He's also facing animal cruelty, animal torture, hunting and firearm offences. The 27-year-old has also been charged with police pursuit relating to an outstanding matter.
He will appear before Orange Local Court next week.
