Michelle Bancewicz Cicale has managed to bring a 450 kilogram - 1,000 pound - bluefin tuna on board her boat off Hampton Beach in New Hampshire.

Cicale posted the footage to her Instagram and Facebook, showcasing just how much effort it takes to get the giant fish on board.

Previous reports indicate Cicale starting fishing, mostly for tuna, in 2015.

In 2019 she bought her boat, The FV No Limits.

Her first solo haul last year was 90 inches long and weighed over 120 kilograms, even when its head and tail had been removed, known as 'dressed' in the fishing world.

In October, she made headlines again for capturing another mega tuna, which was 643 kilos once 'dressed'.

This most recent catch doing the rounds on social media is said to be 1,000 pounds - over 450 kilos - but that's with head and tail still attached.

She recently told New Hampshire radio station WOKQ 97.5 she's learned a lot from the captains around her.

"I am very thankful for each and every one of them," she said.

"They have all been super respectful and supportive of me being one of the only female captains in the area.

"It's not always easy to find any female crew who loves to fish as much as I do.

"I am always looking for the right female crew member."
