Levi Davis is being searched for by police divers in the port of Barcelona.

The 24-year-old rugby player, who appeared on X-Factor in 2019, went missing last year - last seen in Barcelona's city centre at 10:05pm on 29 October.

Police told Davis' mum, Julie, they received reports of a man in the water calling out to staff onboard a cruise ship - reports which lead them to believe the 24-year-old may have drowned.

Alongside reports from members of the cruise's staff, Davis' phone was also traced to a tower at the far end of the port and his passport recovered around the same area.

A Mossos d'Esquadra regional police force spokesperson revealed underwater searches of the port began this morning (Thursday, 18 May) at 'about 10:00am'.

They continued, as per the Mirror: "We cannot say at this stage how long they will continue.

"They’re underwater searches involving divers."

In a post to Twitter, police continued: "We continue investigating the disappearance of a man on October 29.

"We have mobilised the Maritime Police and the Aquatic Unit to search the port of Barcelona and the Llobregat Delta.

"The case continues to be investigated."
