Mum sent social media into a tizzy after she intentionally locked her 'baby' in a car and left

Bonnie Engle left a note on her car window before heading to a nearby Target.

A video has gone viral of a mum leaving a sign on her car window saying she had left her 'baby in the car' so that she could go shopping.

American mother of three Bonnie Engle left the note on her car window before leaving the car park to go and shop at a nearby Target.

The note on her car read: “My baby is OK. He has his snacks and drinks!!! I’m in Target. Be back soon.”

Engle also captioned the video on Instagram: “Please no judgement, he is safe and well."

It led many viewers to believe she had left one of her children in the car.

But before any of her viewers had a chance to panic or ring local authorities, the video cut to a shot of Engle’s husband sitting in the passenger seat drinking an iced coffee and snacking on some popcorn.

“Let me just hang up 911. LMAO, this is brilliant,” one relieved viewer commented.

As of writing, the video is currently sitting on over 30 million views with thousands of likes and comments.

“He may need a potty break soon but otherwise he’s good!” joked one of the viewers in the comments.

“Women learning they can get a man to do almost anything as long as they provide snacks,” said another, followed by laughing emojis.

Another commented: “We love a responsible parent! And the window is down so he’s good.”

While there were plenty of laughs, lighthearted jokes and sighs of relief throughout the comment section, some viewers did not appreciate the joke as much.

“Honestly, this is so tasteless,” one viewer commented. “Let’s make a video mocking one of the leading causes of infant/toddler deaths.”

“I agree. It’s really poor taste,” said another commenter.

On average, 39 children die every year from vehicular-related heat stroke, according to the Carlson Law Firm.

“I hope I never get to the point where I find this type of humour funny,” read another of the comments.

Engle is a health and fitness coach and influencer who has amassed an impressive 147,000 followers on Instagram, where she regularly exhibits her life as a mother to three young kids.
