Amanda Knox has sparked anger online after posting a throwback picture taking part in the #MeAt20 challenge.
The photo was taken when she was on her way to Perugia in Italy, where she was later convicted of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2009, before being acquitted in 2011 and definitively exonerated by the Italian courts in 2015.
Taking to Twitter, one person fumed: "Amanda Knox is so narcissistic that she continues years later to make the violent death of a young woman about her. vile."

Another wrote: "This is immensely poor taste by @amandaknox," while a third added: "As if Amanda Knox posted this as her 'me at age 20' challenge. Calm before the storm."
Others showed their support for Knox, with one person saying: "On the way to an absolute horror show. Still can't believe you had to go through that. I'm so sad for that young girl on the plane heading toward total hell."

Someone else commented: "Aww, you look so young! Little did you know that you'd be involved in such a terrible ordeal. I'm glad you're out of it and now happy."
Knox travelled to Perugia to study and ended up being convicted of the murder of Meredith Kercher in what was alleged to be a sex game gone wrong.
She was found guilty of helping her boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito, kill Meredith and spent four years in an Italian prison.

However, in 2011 her conviction was overturned and a petty criminal from Perugia called Rudy Guede was instead charged. He is currently serving 16 years behind bars.
Meredith Kercher was a 21-year-old British student who was found dead on her bedroom floor with knife wounds.
