We've all been there - you fall hard for someone, you put a ring on their finger and tattoo their initials on yours, and then further down the line you stop liking them and wish their initials weren't on your finger.

And then you've only got two options - laser tattoo removal or whole finger removal.

Andrew Milne, from Northamptonshire, UK, decided to go with option one, but after his second session things took a turn for the worst. Waking up the following day, Mr Milne discovered a huge puss-filled blister had emerged on his finger - though it is unclear whether or not he deemed this preferable to his ex-wife's initials.

The 32-year-old fashion account manager said: "It was quite alarming. When I went to bed on Friday night the skin was slightly raised, about a couple of millimetres, which is quite normal after the first couple of laser sessions.

"But then I woke up on Saturday morning and it had really come up. It's about an inch long and half an inch high, and it seems to be quite tough.

"It's not too painful, but it's just very unsightly. It doesn't look great at all. It's lasted two days now, and it's still going strong."

And if the sight alone of what appears to be some kind of toad growing out of a man's hand isn't gross enough for you, then how about this (put down any food you may have).

Mr Milne added: "I have mentioned it to the woman who did the laser session, and she seemed a bit concerned. She told me to just do my best not to pop it.

"It does leak every now and then."

Mmmm, leaky finger fungi.

Mr Milne has so far paid £35 ($46) for each of the laser tattoo removal sessions and has been told it could take up to nine sessions or the tattoo to be fully removed.

He said: "I don't think it's anything to do with the place I had it done, I'm fairly sure that I've just had a bad reaction to it.

"I'm not entirely sure if I will continue with the tattoo removal. It's kind of put me off taking it any further."... Maybe that marriage was meant to last after all.
