Police in Dublin have launched an investigation after body parts were discovered in a bag.
Police have said the Dublin City Coroner has been notified, and that the services of the State Pathologist have also been requested.
A spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Coolock have commenced an investigation following the discovery of human body parts in Dublin.

"The alarm was raised shortly before 10pm when what are understood to be human limbs were found in a bag outside houses at the junction of Moatview Gardens and Drive.
"The Dublin City Coroner has been notified and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested. Local scenes of crime officers are currently examining the scene which has been sealed off.
"Investigations are ongoing."

According to Dublin Live, Gardai sealed off an area in North Dublin after discovering suspected body parts - thought to be arms and legs, but this has not yet been confirmed.
The news outlet reports that a group of youths made the gruesome discovery shortly before 10pm last night in the Moatview area of Coolock, with one source saying the find was 'very sinister'.
Detectives had been in the area pursuing a vehicle in relation to a separate matter when they received reports of the human remains.
A source also told the Irish Independent last night: "There is a lot of speculation going around about who these remains belong to, but it is simply too early to say.

"Further tests will be carried out in the morning before investigators can start to build a better understanding of who these body parts belonged to."
One woman, who asked not to be identified, also said: "I'm honestly not surprised in the slightest that something like this has happened here.
"Last year, a man from here was shot to death as children were walking home from school.

"The gangs here have no fear and wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who spoke out against them."
One local also took to Twitter to say the news had made her feel 'sick'.
She wrote: "Shocked knowing this was just down the road. I never was scared listening to stories about murders before but knowing a bag of body parts was a walks away just lying there for hours. I feel sick. #dublin."
Another tweeted: "Body parts found in a bag not too far from my family home....... wtf, Dublin?"

An investigation is now underway, with Gardai reportedly searching through missing persons files in an effort to identify the suspected remains.
