Yesterday (6 May), Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Jake Paul came to blows after the YouTuber stole the boxing legend's hat.

Forty-four-year-old Floyd was promoting his upcoming bout with Jake's brother Logan, when they clashed in front of the world's media.

But while the 24-year-old has been taking shots at the undefeated boxer, people have been reminding him that he was once a big fan of the man they call 'Money'... a very big fan.

In a series of tweets dating back to 2012 and 2013, the Disney star can be seen gushing about 'my boy', tagging him in tweets.

Writing in September 2012, Floyd said: "I'm in Las Vegas watching these exciting fights at the @HardRockLLV. If you're in town come watch some action packed boxing."

A clearly excited Jake then tweeted: "Let's get these fights going, can't wait to see Floyd."

Then, in later tweets, the teenage Paul tagged Mayweather, asking him for a retweet before squealing: "My boy Mayweather is about to kill it tomorrow. THERE'S ONLY ONEEEEE MAYWEATHER!"

This comes after Jake shared a video of himself alongside Floyd, with the former champ saying he was the social media sensation's 'trainer'.

In the clip, he says: "You know I'm his manager, I'm his trainer, when it comes to the fight game: support him, follow him. And yes he's part of the Money team."

Well, how times have changed. Almost a decade later and the pair are at each other's rather lucrative throats.

Following their publicised clash, Jake changed his name to to 'Gotcha Hat' on Twitter, in an apparent bid to further wind up his new rival.

And if that wasn't enough, he's even launched some merchandise off the back of it, with a variety of 'gotcha hat' hoodies, t-shirts and, of course, hats up for sale.

Jake posted a video following the scuffle, in which he seemed fairly chilled about the whole thing.

In the post, with Jake wearing a large pair of sunglasses - I wonder what he's covering up - he can be seen getting a 'gotcha hat' tattoo on his leg while eating a sandwich.

Floyd later hit out at Jake, saying stealing his hat was simply too 'disrespectful'.

The undefeated fighter said: "It's one thing to sell a fight, and people can say what they want, but one thing no one is going to do, is disrespect me."

The face-off was supposed to be between Logan and Floyd to promote their upcoming fight.

The actual boxing match is due to take place next month and hype is certainly building.

The duo fronted the media and mouthed off against each other in typical pre-boxing match style, before Jake's face-to-face with the 50-0 boxer escalated things.
