Reports have emerged that Floyd Mayweather's bodyguard has been shot at outside a hotel in Atlanta.

The incident allegedly happened at the Intercontinental when a car pulled up to three other vehicles at an intersection and several shots were fired at one car.

A police spokesperson has told TMZ Sport: "All three vehicles fled and reported being followed for a distance."

"After losing the vehicle that was following them, the victim's vehicle drove to Grady Hospital where the victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and is in stable condition."

According to CBS, police reckon the shooting was not random and the victim was targeted.

This isn't the first time one of Mayweather's entourage has been attacked.

In July last year, a brick was allegedly thrown through the window of Mayweather's girlfriend's home. The Daily Star reported a message saying, 'Fuck the Mayweathers' was attached to the brick.

A friend of Abi Clarke's told the newspaper: "It has been a real-life nightmare for Abi. The stuff she has had to deal with has been tough to take.

"She is genuinely worried about her safety. There are concerns that the worst could happen if things get out of control."

It was also reported that she was confronted in the street by three men who told her: "You plastic slag... You're loose. Mayweather's gonna die."

When the boxer was doing his world tour press meet and greet he had a fiery encounter in Birmingham. After he spoke to fans and reporters at the International Convention Centre, one of his cars was set alight, with West Midlands Police treating it as an arson attack.

A police spokesperson told the Guardian: "Offenders smashed the window of the vehicle, a people carrier, before pouring accelerant inside and setting it alight.

"Enquiries into the fire, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle belonging to a guest, are currently on-going and police are examining CCTV from the area."

Mayweather has been floating the idea of a potential foray into UFC.

Speaking to Showtime's Jim Gray: "Retirement has been great, but as you know and everyone knows, I go in retirement and I come back.

"It is possible I do come back, but if I do come back, it has to be in the Octagon.

"I spoke with my team. I spoke with [adviser] Al Haymon. Al Haymon says no. I spoke with Showtime. I spoke with [Showtime parent company] CBS. If I do come back, Showtime and CBS have to be involved."
