Man Gored To Death At Bull-Running Festival In Spain
A man has been killed after he was gored by a bull in Spain during the Toro del Aleluya - an annual bull-running event - while another man has been rushed into hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
The event, which takes places every Easter Sunday in Arcos de la Frontera, Andalusia, resulted in two men being taken to the Hospital Jerez de la Frontera, but one died as a result of his injuries, local authorities have said.
The other man is said to be in a 'safe but stable condition'. The deceased man is reported to around 50 years old and a local resident.
Video footage of the incident shows the man being cornered by the bull while onlookers try and get its attention to encourage it to leave the man alone.
Despite his attempts to outmanoeuvre it, the bull knocks the man off his feet and begins to toss him around.
Town mayor Isidoro Gambin expressed his 'support and affection' for the friends and family of the deceased.
Bull-runs are, by their nature, dangerous, but it doesn't seem to put people off going along to events.

In June last year ,12 people were gored at the Jala Toro festival in Peru. Fortunately, on that occasion no one died.
And in July last year, four men were gored at the Pamplona's Running of the Bulls festival, which sees around 2,000 people dressed in white with red neck scarves try and get away from a dozen bulls along an 825-metre run.
Why anyone would find this entertaining is totally beyond a lot of people, but the event usually spans an entire week, so it seems that there are plenty of willing participants.
Anyway, the four men - who included two US citizens - were not quite quick enough and got caught by the bulls. One man was caught by a bull's horn in the scrotum, it was reported.
Such events are usually pretty controversial, with animal rights' groups demonstrating and protesting against the tradition.
Speaking at the time of the Running of the Bulls festival, director of the charity AnimaNaturalis, in Spain, said: "From tomorrow in this city, more than 50 bulls will be tortured to death.
"They will be persecuted and led by a crowd to the bullring, the plaza of shame and the last minutes of their lives will be full of suffering and torture.
"We know that we will not be able to stop these deaths but we will continue here so that those deaths do not go unnoticed."
