This is the tragic story of a model who was killed during a brutal prison riot, which also saw four people beheaded by gangsters.
Argentinian Joanna Birriel was at Granja Pavon Prison visiting former army officer Bryon Lima when the riot broke out, who was an inmate.

The riot started after an inmate threw a hand grenade at Lima, who was serving a sentence for murder, and ended in the deaths of at least 12 convicts. Supporters of Lima then attacked others with guns. I'm not sure how the hell grenades and guns get in a prison, but they did.
Prison officials have said that the violence is down to feuds between Lima's gang and a rival gang.
The stunning model visited Lima at the prison, which is just outside of Guatemala City, once a month, the Mirror reports. Lima's brother said Joanna had worked as an adviser for his bio-health park company.

There is no news on how she died yet or if the grenade exploded, but four of the dead were beheaded in the riot.
Lima is said to have amassed a multi-million-pound illegal empire within the prison. Inmates reported to Lima's lawyer that he had banned a rival gang from selling drugs in the prison.
