We all have our own techniques for dealing with a hangover, whether it's having a cry in the shower or having a sneaky curer, hair of the dog style - but there could be a new saviour that is supported by actual SCIENCE.

Researchers in Finland believe they have created a pill to get rid of those morning-after symptoms and it comes in the form of a tablet.

Having carried out a study on men who had been drinking, an amino acid table called L-cysteine was found to reduce all those symptoms that are so difficult to shake after a night on the bevvies.

Alcohol induced ailments like headaches and nausea could be a thing of the past with the breakthrough.

The tablet was tested on a group of men who had to drink alcohol for several hours, on six occasions.

The results showed that the men that had the pill said that they felt less hungover compared with men who were given a placebo pill.

The packs are sold online from various outlets, but can be bought for less than 13p each if you get this pack of 100.

And for the science, the research paper said: "L-cysteine prevents or alleviates hangover, nausea, headache, stress and anxiety. For hangover, nausea and headache the results were apparent with the L-cysteine dose of 1200 mg and for stress and anxiety already with the dose of 600 mg.

"L-cysteine would reduce the need for drinking the next day with no or fewer hangover symptoms: nausea, headache, stress and anxiety.

"Altogether, these effects of L-cysteine are unique and seem to have a future in preventing or alleviating these harmful symptoms as well as reducing the risk of alcohol addiction."

The survey was funded by a company called Catapult Cat, which sells the tablets, as per Bloomberg.

Two dozen volunteers took part in it, aged between 21 and 60 and they had to have had hangovers before.

Only those that could keep up with the drinking were included, with only 19 sets of data used.

Each person was given 1.5g of alcohol for each kilogram that they weighed, meaning the results were proportionately comparable.

The morning after, the participants had to say how hungover they were on a scale of 1-10, and how stressed they felt.

In the results, the L-cysteine was said to have reduced or completely eliminated hangover symptoms.
