Social media have absolutely rinsed Brooklyn Beckham for the way he made a sandwich on an American morning show recently. Watch below:

David and Victoria Beckham's eldest child failed to impress viewers this week with the making of his English breakfast sandwich 'recipe' on NBC's Today Show.

The 22-year-old actually did no cooking on-air and instead, he simply assembled the sarnie containing pre-cooked bacon, sausage and egg.

Despite insisting he learned how to the made the butty from his grandma, social media weren't up for giving any sympathy.

One user wrote: "So he made a sausage, English bacon, and non-runny egg on... untoasted white bread. With ketchup.

"Was this meant to be a joke?"

"WTH? Sorry but it's not a proper English unless it has a runny egg with bacon / sausage / black pudding / mushroom / tomatoes & HP Sauce (not ketchup )," another user commented.

A third user added: "Seriously? Embarrassing for everyone involved.

"Who paid who to get this aired?"

"Bleeding el... that's shameful!! I could do better blindfolded!!!! Also, why break the yolk before he broke it?" wrote a fourth user.

A final user concluded: "Yeah, now we're left with people thinking this is how we eat in the UK."

Well, it turns out that strange appetites run in the family as Brooklyn's mum recently - and bizarrely - revealed that her favourite thing to eat is salt on toast.

Victoria admitted she's a restaurant's 'worst nightmare' due to her love of simple foods, such as a slice of toast with a bit of salt on top.

Speaking on the River Cafe's Table 4 podcast, the 47-year-old said: "This is where I sound even more boring in the food department.

"I like whole-grain toast with salt on it. It's that carbohydrate that makes you feel comforted and I love salt.

"To most restaurants, I'm probably their worst nightmare.

"I love some steamed vegetables, some balsamic vinegar and then to season myself. I like things to be cooked in a very simple way.

"I don't like oils or butters or sauces."

I reckon David probably spends more on a haircut than a meal out with Victoria!
