At least four people have been killed and at least 20 have been left injured in a series of coordinated attacks in Thailand.

According to reports, the first two blasts hit Hua Hin overnight, killing one Thai woman and wounding 21 people.

Hours earlier, a bombing near a market in Trang Province killed one person and injured six.

Patong beach in the tourist resort of Phuket was also targeted.

It appears the blasts were orchestrated specifically to hit the tourism industry.

It is not clear who was behind the planned attacks.

Thai leader Prayat Chan-O-Cha branded the blasts an 'attempt to create chaos and confusion'.

The British Embassy in Thailand is now urging tourists to take 'extreme caution' and avoid public places.

Our thoughts are with the people of Thailand.
