A woman has defended her actions after putting a note on the window of a Range Rover using a silicone-type substance in an attempt to stop two sisters from parking their cars on her street.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, was upset when her disabled friend couldn't visit due to the matching Range Rovers blocking her parking spot, despite her having 'politely asked' in a number of previous notes for the cars to not be parked there.

The two sisters, Ellie Newman, 36, and Jordana Timeyin, 39, have said they park their separate black and white Range Rover Velars on a street close to where they work in Whitefield, Greater Manchester.

However, they claim that they've had notes stuck via glue on their windscreens on various occasions.

Ellie says she discovered a silicone glued note on her windscreen after work on Thursday (30 Sept).

The note in black felt tip pen read: "Please stop using this street as a car park. Residents are coming home from work/shopping and can not park on their own street!!"

The note demanded the sisters to stop parking down the street.

Ellie said she and Jordana were perfectly within their rights to park there, as they both pay tax.

But the anonymous resident has said she wants to see more consideration for people who live on the street.

"My friend wanted to visit, I was making him a dinner as he can barely walk now without a stick and can't stand up to cook," she explained.

"But he couldn't come as he couldn't park his car outside my house.

"Without being able to park right outside, he couldn't walk down the street, so he couldn't come.

"I am not a nasty person and would not do anyone a bad turn, but this has been going on for 12 months.

"There is a back to the shops where they work and I am sure they could park there."

Although the woman has damaged the windscreen of the Range Rover by using the silicone-type substance to stick the note, she's explained how she doesn't feel the need to apologise.

The silicone-type substance left visible damage.

"I make no apologies, I have not been rude or malicious. It was a reasonable request, I was not rude," she said.

"I just explained how things were from a resident's viewpoint. If you are parking there all day you must know you are causing a problem for somebody.

"I don't like seeing how we have become a very selfish society. I have no time for it."

Ellie has reported the incident online to Greater Manchester Police.
