Parkour, also known as freerunning, is more than a sport, it’s turning risks into opportunities and the mundane into adrenaline. For parkour artists, it’s about seeing the entire world as your playground and seizing every opportunity. Few know this world like the Parkour Twins—Dylan and Brodie Pawson—Brisbane-bred athletes who’ve spent over two decades refining and mastering their craft.
The Pawsons are the latest guests on The Team Ignition Show, an action-adventure video podcast series that spotlights the world’s biggest risk takers. Hosted by renowned X Games broadcaster and action-sports icon Selema Masekela, this adrenaline-fuelled series delivers cinematic, high-energy showcases of each guest’s talent, before unpacking the mindset, discipline, and decisions behind it all.
“The feeling I get from parkour,” Brodie says in the episode, “is just something I haven’t felt in anything else I’ve done.
The Parkour twins can find a course almost anywhere, but they have their own set of rules they abide by, especially when it comes to heights, and that’s where risk management comes into play.
“There’s always going to be risk involved, but honestly, it’s the best feeling, and that’s what keeps driving me to continue doing parkour.”

“We would never go to a height that was, say, 10 stories,” Dylan says, “and where we’re pushing physical limits. It’s just not sustainable. There’s way too much risk.”
But they also provided insight into how they move past the fear when jumping over gaps is part of the course.
“If you’ve done a jump 100 times at ground level before going higher, and all you see is takeoff and landing, then it’s effectively the same thing,” Brodie says.

Dylan adds, “If you’re going to that level and thinking about the drop, you’re not ready for that challenge.”
