Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin has found herself at the centre of a scandal after a video of her partying with her celebrity pals found its way to social media.

The 36-year-old leader has a reputation for partying a little too hard, openly hitting up music festivals and clubs during her tenure as PM.

She also copped criticism in 2021 after a night out brought her into close contact with a Covid-19 case.

In the video the Finnish leader can be seen drinking, singing, and dancing with a group of friends  as songs by Finnish rapper Petri Nygård and pop singer Antti Tuisku can be heard playing in the background.

According to newspaper Iltalehti, those partying with the PM are actually famous Finns.

The Finnish newspaper identified singer Alma, influencer Janita Autio, TV host Tinni Wikström, YouTuber Ilona Ylikorpi, radio host Karoliina Tuominen, stylist Vesa Silver and fellow politician Ilmari as the ones partying along the Prime Minister.

"Based on the videos, it is not possible to say for sure when and where they were filmed," the newspaper wrote.

"It looks like the videos were taken in a private apartment."

The Finnish paper added: "Marin’s partying and social media publicity, which differs from the traditional style of prime minister, has attracted a lot of attention and discussion."

The leaked video has prompted calls from fellow Finnish MPs for the party-loving Prime Minister to undergo a voluntary drug test as the people should be 'allowed to expect this' from their leader.

Marin, however, has denied taking drugs, telling a press conference that she only drank alcohol and partied 'in a boisterous way' and had  had 'no problem taking [drug] tests'.

"I danced, sang, and partied - perfectly legal things. And I've never been in a situation where I've seen or known of others [using drugs]," the Finnish leader said, according to the BBC.

"I have a family life, I have a work life and I have free time to spend with my friends. Pretty much the same as many people my age."

Despite copping flak for her boozy night out, the 36-year-old leader said she has no intention of changing her behaviour.

"I am going to be exactly the same person as I have been until now and I hope that it will be accepted," she said, as per the BBC.

Marin's latest party scandal comes one week after German news outlet Bild dubbed her the 'coolest prime minister in the world'.
