People are shocked after man appears to get glasses tattooed onto his face

The tattoo artist said the design was made because the bloke 'always loses them'.

Everyone forgets things every now and then.

While the occasional reminder to take your house keys or your wallet with you can be helpful, one man has apparently taken things to the next level.

Italian tattoo artist Gipsyg Tattooer shared a short yet shocking video to TikTok of her appearing to ink some frames on some fellow's face.

She shared the now-viral video, which has amassed 14.6 million views in only three days at the time of writing, alongside the caption: "If you always lose your glasses, do like him [and] tattoo them."

The video did not go down too well on TikTok, with the majority of commenters descending into a mild panic on behalf of the glasses guy.

One user said: "I’m praying this is a joke."

A second added: "Please tell me this isn't real. It can not be. Please just say is a joke so I can sleep."

Another piped up to point out that no matter what you do, there is always someone worse off than you.

They said: "I was crying because I made a mistake cutting my own bangs but then I saw this and I feel relieved."

While another TikTokker commented: "You've got to be kidding me."

As the tattoo artist's followers shared their disbelief over the mortifying and permanent tattoo reminder, others called on Gipsyg to admit the video was a fake.

The video, which has already racked up more than 8,200 comments, saw a handful of people apply logic to the scenario.

One user commented on the clip: "This has to be fake! His face is not even red from the needle and no gel was applied. It's definitely a Sharpie or something."

Another posted: "The needle didn't touch the skin. It might be a whiteboard pen that is not permanent."

Well, consider that social media myth officially busted.

While it appears the case of the Italian glasses tattoo may be a fake, the joke was very much on another man from Wales who did practically the same thing.

The man from Swansea spent two years undergoing gradual laser treatment to have a tattoo of a pair of fake sunglasses removed after he had them inked onto his mug during a stag-do.

"I had no memory of getting the tattoo because I had gone out celebrating and it happened when I was drunk," said the 50-something, who spoke with MailOnline on condition of not being named.

"Waking up the morning after, I thought someone had used a permanent marker on my face. When I first came home, obviously I was subject to a lot of stares, but I kind of got used to the tattoo and decided not to get rid of it."

The tattoo, which the man requested as a drunken dare, includes the name of the sunglasses brand Ray-Ban. Although he planned to keep his brand new ink at first, he changed his mind after someone mocked him while he was on another night out in the pub.

"The next morning I really started to think about what my family and friends thought," he said. "I didn't want them to be embarrassed when they were out with me, so I decided there and then I was going to get it removed."

Yikes.

Now we're really praying Gipsyg's video is fake.
