People left ‘unsettled’ after spotting terrifying face hidden in group photo

One user said it's made them believe in ghosts

People have been left ‘unsettled’ after they spotted a terrifying face hidden in a smiley group selfie.

You can always guarantee on there being an optical illusion going viral somewhere on the internet to cause debate in the group chat.

From that famous snap of the women sitting on a sofa to the lizards on the ground proving you have the ‘eyes of a sniper’, they often get you scratching your head.

And I mean, let’s be honest, sometimes they’re really just BS.

But it’s a debate nevertheless – like the ‘screaming ghost’ image that some people think proves the ‘afterlife is real’ but others think is a trick of light.

And in this image of six friends, there’s supposedly a second creepy face making an appearance.

Taking to an r/Ghosts thread on Reddit, one user shared the image with the caption: “A friend of mine sent me this picture from his group of friends in Chile.”

The smiling friends are snapping a selfie on a hike, with four women in the front and two men in the back. And before you start, no, I’m not talking about the extra face being one of the people walking up the trail behind them.

You’ve got to look a whole lot closer to try and see the weird, little ‘face’.

Like, a lot, lot closer.

Here’s a clue: look towards the bottom left. And then, have a gander between the heads of the two women there.

To be fair, the light blue little glance of a face is pretty creepy.

After noticing it, some users were utterly horrified, as one person commented: "I am not exaggerating when I say that when I finally saw it, I got goosebumps and felt genuine fear. Wtf. I believe in ghosts again now."

Another penned: "My dumba** was looking at the red thing in the bottom left corner. I was like uhhh looks like someone was just cut out the pic… then BOOM, I saw it. Runs to hide under the covers."

But a third person wrote: "It's just a person that's also in the group with their face being hidden in shadow by the two around it, and made to look creepy with that intense blue filter.

"You can even see the top of the person's head and hair illuminated normally by the daylight."

While someone else admitted: "It gave me chills, for sure. Usually I just laugh these things off, or assume the photo is doctored in a way I can’t really detect, but not this time.

"And once you see it, you can’t try to make it be something else, like the way the guy’s jacket is bunched up, or a combination of that and part of the hair from one of the girls.

"Nothing else fits. It’s very clearly something/someone that doesn’t belong there."

Has this made you believe in ghosts?
