If there’s one thing Donald Trump is guaranteed to do, it’s leave us absolutely baffled.

At this point, it seems like a daily occurrence that the US President does or says something controversial. And on this occasion, he’s left people stunned with what he has hung up outside of the Oval Office.

Even for Trump, it’s quite the interesting choice of décor for the White House, and so has quickly gone viral after social media users noticed it.

The 78-year-old met with India’s Prime Minister at the Washington D.C. residence on Thursday (13 February) as photographers snapped away as they sat at the Resolute desk.

But in the background, the door to the coveted Oval Office was left open, allowing us lot to see a framed photo hanging on the wall.

And instead of a bit of art or a snap of him with Melania on his Inauguration Day, Trump’s had his infamous mug shot put in a gold frame, greeting people as they walk in.

Oh, and it’s not just the photo, but rather what seems to be the New York Post front-page story about it. It’s said he’s been a fan since back in the 80’s when the outlet would regularly publish photos of him.

While for some a mugshot might be a great source of shame, Trump of course used his quite a lot during his recent campaign, turning into a bit of a symbol of defiance. Well, at least to his supporters anyway.

The bloke even sold merchandise with it on to help fund his election campaign last year. Taken in 2023, it was released last year amid his convictions for falsifying business records over a hush money payment made to adult star Stormy Daniels in his previous campaign.

And the images from this week suggests Trump remains pretty proud of the mugshot, following him being given a penalty sentence just days before he was sworn into office.

So, while he is the first convicted felon to be US President, he hasn’t been ordered to do any time in prison.

With much of the US divided over his presidency, the response to this framed mugshot reflects that.

Some X users called him the ‘hardest guy’ as others simply said: “Wild times.”

One wrote: “As much as I don’t like this man that shit is fire can’t even lie.”

But another put: “He’s always had poor taste. Not surprised.”
