While “Pot Roast’s Mom” did not detail how her cat died, she often told her followers about the various illnesses that she was suffering from.
In a different TikTok video, her owner explained how Pot Roast was previously diagnosed with a severe case of FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), a viral infection which only affects cats.
The RSPCA notes that the condition initially begins with a short illness which usually goes unnoticed by a cat’s owner, but then begin to enter “a stage of progressive immune system decline” but won’t continue to show symptoms of the disease for years after.
There is no cure for FIV, but the animal welfare charity notes that FIV-positive “cats are able to live long and happy lives and can make wonderful pets.”
