Ricky Gervais shares ‘worst dinner party ever’ James Corden tweet after restaurant allegations

People have been left in stitches after Ricky Gervais re-tweeted a follower's post about Afterlife slamming James Corden.

People have been left in stitches after Ricky Gervais re-tweeted a follower's post about After Life slamming James Corden.

Be prepared to get into a serious debate about who your dream dinner party guests would be:

Last week, James Corden was labelled the 'most abusive customer' by restaurant owner Keith McNally.

McNally shared alleged incidents which occurred between Corden and members of his staff on social media and announced he was banning the Late Late Show host from ever returning to Balthazar, New York.

While Corden apologised and has since been unbanned, the internet still isn't over it, including, apparently, British comedian Ricky Gervais.

And people truly can't get enough of Gervais' re-sharing of an old clip from Netflix comedy-drama After Life (2019).

Balthazar owner McNally took to Instagram on Tuesday, 18 October to post an image of Corden's smiling face.

However, the caption was anything other than beaming. It read: "James Corden is a Hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.

"I don't often 86 a customer, to today I 86'd Corden. It did not make me laugh."

The restaurant owner then proceeded to give two examples of Corden's alleged treatment of his staff.

Thankfully, McNally later revealed Corden had called him up and 'apologised profusely' and so he was giving the comedian a 'second chance' - resolving to reverse his decision to ban Corden from the establishment.

However, as we all know, the internet never forgets.

Gervais took to Twitter to re-tweet a past post from a fan which reads: "James f**king Corden #AfterLife @rickgervais Worst. Dinner party. Ever."

In the scene, Gervais - who plays lead character Tony Johnson - is asked by colleague Kath (played by Diane Morgan) who his favourite people would be, dead or alive, to invite to a dinner party.

Kath says: "Number one James Corden. We could do carpool karaoke. That man can do anything. I know the cool kids don't like him but he never stops working. He's a grafter like me."

Johnson's response is to reduce Corden's role to that of a 'chauffeur' and he then laments with Kath's decision to bring Princess Diana back if the royal has to be stuck in a room with her 'and James f**king Corden'.

Upon Kath revealing her next choice of Rowan Atkinson, Johnson states: "You've invited multi-millionaire Rowan Atkinson along to a dinner party with you, a dead woman and James Corden and you expect him to stay in character as Mr f**king Bean?"

The cherry on the cake? Johnson's prediction for what Corden would do if Michael Jackson walked in...

"Worst dinner party ever," he resolves.

While Corden wouldn't probably be a dream dinner guest for McNally, the comedian was a favourite pick for 'After Life's' Kath (Diane Morgan).

Fans have since flooded to the comments in fits of laughter over the resurfaced footage and Gervais' timely re-sharing of it.

One user joked: "My favourite scene cos it’s spot on!!! 'James Corden can do anything'… 'and does'!"

"Every moment of this is pure gold. The whole lot from start to the very end, never failed to make me laugh or think," another said.

A third commented: "Is the dinner party at Balthazar's? Cos then James would have to sit outside with a lemonade and a bag of crisps."

LADbible has contacted James Corden's representatives for comment.
