Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have named their son after a legendary Wu-Tang rapper.

The couple welcomed their little boy last spring (13 May 2022) and are currently expecting their second child.

The pair, who have been together now for three years, opted for a slightly alternative, but nonetheless extremely iconic, choice in name for the little tot.

Rihanna and A$AP welcomed their first child nearly a whole year ago but have largely kept their son's name a secret.

However, earlier in the year (15 February), the star explained just how protective she was of her son and detailed her thoughts on bringing him into the spotlight.

Speaking about her introduction to motherhood, she told British Vogue: "I just went straight into protective mode. Like there wasn’t even time for rage.

"As parents it just feels so icky, like a violation."

After herself and A$AP caught wind of the fact that his baby photos could be potentially leaked to the press - Rihanna took things into her own hands.

Rihanna's son has been a star-player on her Instagram since he was born last year.

She recalled: "As we were speaking, we knew they were making calls and deals."

In typical Rihanna-fashion, the new mum launched into action and sent over some adorable candid shots to an unnamed blog and subsequently joined TikTok.

And, in doing so, the 'Work' singer well and truly broke the internet after posting a now-viral video of her son babbling and smiling at her.

Talking about the whole ordeal, Rihanna explained: "It’s the thing you never want to happen," adding: "Throw me to the wolves. Do what you want with me. But he doesn’t have a say in any of this."

She then declared that, as a parent, it is her choice to introduce her child to the world, not the paparazzi's.

"We get to decide as parents when and how we do that," she added.

"End of story."

The couple has reportedly named their baby boy after the leader of the famed hip hop group, Wu-Tang Clan.

As the little tot's first birthday nears - just two days away now - it seems perfect timing that fans can finally know what to call him.

According to a birth certificate obtained by The Daily Mail, the parents named their baby boy after a music hall-of-famer and leader of the famed hip hop group, Wu-Tang Clan, who first graced the music charts in 1992.

Rihanna's son is allegedly called RZA which is, frankly, iconic.

The birth certificate also shows that his full name is RZA Athelston Mayers.

What do you make of the choice?
