Conor McGregor has confirmed what his next course of action will be after his UFC comeback ended in disaster with him lasting just one minute and nine seconds.
The Irish MMA fighter started the fight with a couple of high kicks that missed the intended target of his opponent Max Holloway, and McGregor, who turns 38 tomorrow, ended up on the canvas.
He didn't look steady on his feet at all and the referee waved things off, leaving a moody McGregor to storm out in defeat during his first UFC appearance since he broke his leg during his loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
That could be the end of the controversial Irishman's career, but in a social media post he insisted he was going to recover and aim to fight again.

There was a lot of religious preamble before he got to that bit, but the part UFC fans will want to know about is: "Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God!"
So it sounds like McGregor aims to step back into the octagon one final time at least, with the aged fighter who is now on a run of three straight defeats trying to have one last go.
There will be concerns over his age and suitability, considering those legs of his didn't look very capable of supporting him during his fight.
To last just over a minute and have to go via a knee injury might be seen as a sign by some that it's time to pack it in, but McGregor seems insistent he has at least one more fight left in him.
For now he needs time to recover and see out his suspension, which is par for the course when competing in combat sports.
This is surely not how McGregor saw his first UFC bout since 2021 going, and if this return went so badly it raises concerns over a possible subsequent attempt to keep going.

Why has Conor McGregor been suspended from MMA?
Combat sports like MMA and boxing can take a big toll on an athlete's body, which is unsurprising given that you are effectively beating each other up.
This results in bad injuries, including broken ribs and jaws, eye injuries, and of course trauma to the head.
McGregor's knee blowing out would put him out of commission for a while anyway, but even if he'd lost without that injury and wanted to fight tomorrow he wouldn't be able to.
Athletes are routinely barred from fighting for a set period after a match in order to make sure that they can properly recover.
It's unclear if McGregor would actually want to fight again anytime soon, taking long breaks after each of his last few fights.
His body is clearly not in a state to fight, and the suspension makes sure he doesn't do anything stupid.
