Jake Paul has posted a cryptic tweet after it was rumoured his next fight had been ‘announced’.
Arguably well wanted by fans, it’s been said the YouTuber-turned-boxer would be fighting Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight fight in Miami this December.
Set to be a bit of a last minute surprise bout, it was reported this would be officially announced by Netflix this coming Monday (17 November).
It’s been rumoured that Paul would face the British boxing icon after his fight with lightweight champion Gervonta Davis was axed.

And even legend of the sport David Haye said he ‘genuinely fears’ for the American YouTuber if the clash was to go ahead this Christmas. However, Paul’s recent post seems to throw a bit of doubt on these reports.

Although, with him known to be a bit of a wind-up, the 28-year-old could also just be trying to add to the excitement and throw off the scent.
As the rumours increased more and more yesterday, he took to X to write: “Not holding my breath for 2025. Too many yes men. F1 next weekend is for sure.”
Many have taken this post to mean that Paul will not in fact be fighting AJ this year as one user joked: “So who’s grandpa are you fighting next since you ducked AJ?”
And a second wrote: “At least AJ won’t be putting you in intensive care at Christmas.”
With a third echoing: “I’m sure deep down you are happy that the AJ fight isn’t going ahead as it would have ended badly for you, best sitting it out until a YouTuber, an ex pro grandfather or a social media influencer pops up.”
But others are just desperate for another Paul bout, as one asked: “Are we gonna be waiting even longer?”
And yet, while Paul’s cryptic post suggests the fight won’t be happening, the reports have continued.

“Fight not exhibition”
The Ring reporter Mike Coppinger had previously reported that the pair were ‘finalising a deal’ for a heavyweight fight.
And yesterday, he wrote on X: “The heavyweight fight - not exhibition - is slated to take place Friday, Dec. 19, per sources.”
This is also pretty major as it suggests it would be a professional fight on their records – although, many are confused about Paul’s match-up to AJ.
Unlike some of the YouTuber’s other fights, this would therefore have judges if they go the full rounds and that there can’t be any gimmicks.
Eddie Hearn also seemed to tease the fight while discussing plans for AJ’s reurn to the ring earlier this week.
"We will make a decision this week in terms of if he will fight this year," he said on Tuesday. "We have to decide by this weekend basically.
"If he fights this year, it’s just gonna be a... You probably won’t even hear about it, unless it’s Jake Paul.
"Again, we’ll make that decision this week, but - outside of Jake Paul - if he fought this year, you really wouldn’t know about it."
