The partner of one of the motorcyclists who were killed in a crash has suffered a double tragedy after losing her previous boyfriend to a race accident.
Shane Richardson, 29, and Owen Jenner, 21, both died after 11 riders fell at the first corner at the Oulton Park race track in Cheshire on Monday (5 May).
Organisers MotorSport Vision Racing said the pair were treated trackside but later died. Richardson, rider number 28, was taken to the medical centre with 'severe chest injuries' and passed away while he was being transferred to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Jenner, rider number 86, was also moved to the circuit medical centre and died from a 'catastrophic head injury'.
A third rider, Tom Tunstall, 47, has sustained 'significant back and abdominal injuries' and has been transferred to Royal Stoke.
Shane Richardson, 29, died after sustaining severe chest injuries (British Superbikes) Hannah James was Richardson's girlfriend, and she'd also lost her previous partner Billy Redmayne to a racing accident in 2016.
The 25-year-old from Laxey died in hospital on 19 April after sustaining serious head injuries during a crash at the Oliver's Mount Spring Cup in Scarborough in 2016.
In 2020, James issued a tribute online to Redmayne, who she met back in 2014.
James, a social worker and former grid girl, has since shared an emotional family photo of Richardson with their two children on Facebook.
Hannah James was the partner of Shane Richardson (Facebook) "The most picture perfect family," one person wrote. "Your love for each other was beautiful, which will live on in beautiful Maddie and Max. Sending so much love to you all."
While someone else wrote that their 'heart breaks for you', adding: "Shane’s legacy lives on in each of you and all those who knew and loved him. Ride on forever Shane."
It comes after Cheshire Police said they are investigating the crash, and would be working with the Coroner and racing officials.
"Police are investigating two deaths on behalf of the coroner following a multiple collision at Oulton Park this afternoon," Cheshire Police said.
"Emergency services were called to the scene following the collision which resulted in two riders being fatally injured and another with serious injuries.

MotorSport Vision Racing added in a statement that the incident was the result of a 'chain reaction incident involving 11 riders falling'.
"The race was immediately stopped and trackside medical services deployed," the organisers said. "Due to the extreme severity of the incident and ongoing medical intervention, the remainder of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship event was cancelled.
"This catastrophic accident has tragically resulted in two riders being fatally injured, and another sustaining significant injuries.
"The Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board and MotorSport Vision Racing are investigating the full circumstances of the incident in conjunction with the Coroner and Cheshire Constabulary."
