For more than two years, he has been away from Instagram and Twitter, but last week fans noticed that his accounts were back online and had been wondering if it was a sign of a potential new announcement.

Just a few days later, Stormzy revealed his new album, This Is What I Mean, will be released on 25 November.

Fans are excited to hear he's releasing new music and were especially happy to see him appear on The Graham Norton Show on Friday evening, where the 29-year-old opened up about how he chose his nickname.

When asked by Norton how it all came about, he explained that it wasn't a very interesting story, but that he came up with the idea when he was around the age of 12.

"I was about 12, 13. I was sat on my sofa in my front room, I was with my cousin [on] MSN. God just put it in my head and I went on MSN and changed my screen name to Stormzy, the rest is history," he said.

"I wasn't into storms, I just thought this sounds good."

Stormzy recently spoke about another chapter of his life - his split with ex-girlfriend Maya Jama, who has recently been announced as the new Love Island host.

Opening up to Louis Theroux about his heartbreak. he said: “My break-up, that was probably the biggest catalyst for growth as a man.

“It was like, OK, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you.

“That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn’t it? Away from someone passing away, that’s the biggest loss you can have.

“The whole f**king palaver that surrounded that situation, do you know what I mean? There were other things in terms of mistakes I’d made.

“I didn’t do what a man should do to fully appreciate love, and care for his woman.”

The pair were together for around four years.
