Houston Police held a press conference to update the public regarding the shooting of Migos rapper Takeoff.

Police have confirmed the suspects in the shooting of Migos member Takeoff were at the private party the rapper attended shortly before his death.

During a press conference earlier today (1 November) held by Houston Police, which was live streamed on Twitter and Facebook, it was confirmed that potential suspects of the shooting were present at the same private party as the Migos member.

No information on suspects has been released, nor have there been any arrests, and it couldn't be speculated if Takeoff was the intended target.

Officers responded to a shooting at a bowling alley on 1200 Polk St in the early hours of 1 November.

It was explained that one of the victims was found dead upon arrival, which Houston Police Chief Troy Finner later confirmed as Takeoff, 28.

He also confirmed he had spoken with his mother.

Finner explained how an argument happened at the private party - which was held at a bowling alley - on the night on 31 October.

A shooting took place stemming from the argument and most people present fled the scene and did not give a statement.

It is estimated around 40 people witnessed the shooting.

The two other attendees who were shot, a 23-year-old male and a 24-year-old female, went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Houston Police gave an update on the case at a press conference.

A second member of Migos - Quavo, 31 - whose real name is Quavious Keyate Marshall and is the uncle of the rapper - was at the party but not hurt in the shooting.

The third member of the group and Takeoff's cousin Offset - whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus - was not there.

The chief said investigators do not have any reason to believe Takeoff - whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball - was involved in anything criminal at the time. He was also unable to confirm if Takeoff had been hit in a shooting crossfire.

"Even if we have a face, the best thing is if somebody could stand up, because somebody knows exactly who it was, and I am really confident somebody is going to step up," Chief Finner said.

Takeoff's death was confirmed earlier today in a statement from his attorney.

"I am devastated by the tragic death of Kirshnik Ball, known to his fans as Takeoff," Drew Findling said.

"Takeoff was not only a brilliant musical artist with unlimited talent but also a uniquely kind and gentle soul. He will be greatly missed now and always."

Takeoff started his career in 2008 alongside his Migos bandmates. The family trio put themselves on the hip hop with the release of the song 'Versace' in 2013.

They also released the hit songs 'Bad & Boujee' , 'MotorSport' with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, and 'Bon Appetit' with Katy Perry.
