Man who accidentally took 'one in a million' photo responded to people's concerns over what image actually showed

People weren't so sure it was such a nice photo

In the age of Instagram and sharing every inch of our lives on social media, it’s perfectly normal to hold up your phone wherever you are and take a quick snap.

But with us so focused on our tech, we often don’t actually take in the scene in full before getting that shot.

And that means you could capture all sorts of things without even realising.

Like the time in 2018 when one bloke went viral for accidentally taking a ‘one in a million’ photo.

Gavin Best was hiking at Cavehill in Belfast when he took a couple of photos of the majestic scenery before him.

The result? An incredible photo of the sun breaking through the clouds as the rocky edge looks over the life below.

Except that wasn’t quite it. Once you zoom further, further into the pic, you can just about make out a figure near part of the edge of the 368-metre rocky hill.

“Just spotted something in the distance and zoomed in. How's that for coincidental timing?” Gav wrote to X.

Not just any figure either, the person seems to be doing what looks like a star jump with the sky as his background. There’s no denying how impressive it is.

But the only problem is that other users quickly became concerned over just what this person was doing.

As comments built up with the fears that the person was perhaps jumping off the cliff, Gav added a response to clear things up: “In response to the handful of suggestions that the person might've been jumping *off* the cliff, can I reassure you that the next couple of photos, taken moments later, showed 2 or 3 people up there.”

He added to another user: “Don't worry - the next couple of photos showed people up there.”

One also echoed: “Did you get any later pictures where they were still there?... Or did they jump off, you think?”

As Gav clarified: “I did indeed, so no need to worry.”

Although the photo is incredible, the man admitted it’s quite ‘a yomp’ to get up there - but it sure does seem worth it for the view.

Other users called it the ‘best photobomb ever’ as he replied: “Ha! I’d love to think that was what they were doing.”

While another joked: “This might be you, visiting shortly from the future to greet yourself.”

But Gav admitted: “Haha! Not the best use of time-travel ability by future me!”
