Amazon's Alexa Now Has A Samuel L. Jackson Voice Feature In The US
Well, now US customers can hear the Hollywood superstar's dulcet tones from the comfort of their own living room, as his voice has now been added as an option as part of Alexa's Celebrity Voice Progam, which launched on 12 December.
While his voice won't replace Alexa's altogether, it can be requested on demand - meaning to get things started you can summon Alexa and tell her: "Alexa, introduce me to Samuel L. Jackson."
Once the formalities are over, you can then get Alexa to ask Samuel if he has a favourite hobby, or what it was like making Star Wars, or how he got the part of Nick Fury.
You can even ask him for daily help, with commands such as 'Alexa, ask Samuel for the Weather', 'Alexa, ask Samuel to play some music' or 'Alexa, ask Samuel for the news'.
If you really want, you can just kick back and make small talk with the A-lister, and simply tell him 'hello' or ask him if he's having a nice day.
A post on the Alexa Blog said: "He's in the cloud baby! Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson is here to add some fun and entertainment to your Alexa experience.
"Just ask and Samuel will give you the weather, play your favorite music, tell jokes, and more. Get to know Samuel, ask him about his movies, and learn more about life in Hollywood.
"To get started, just say 'Alexa, introduce me to Samuel L. Jackson,' or visit amazon.com/AskSam."
If you don't mind the odd profanity, there's an explicit version of Jackson's voice, but there's also a clean, family-friendly alternative should you need that.
Many people have already been trying it out and sharing Jackson in action on social media.
Tweeting a video clip of their Alexa speaking in Samuel L. Jackson mode, one person wrote: "My Alexa, has @SamuelLJacksonfor the voice! My life is complete."
The new voice costs just $0.99 for US users; sadly there's no word of any UK release any time soon.
According to The Verge, other celebrity voices 'will cost $4.99 after an introductory discount'.
