Heading to the Sunshine Coast? Here are the best beach bars for a Jim Beam & Cola with mates

The best beach bars on the Sunshine Coast for a Jim Beam & Cola

Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is having a moment. And, with world-class beaches like Noosa, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba spread across 60 kilometres of pristine coastline, it’s really no surprise why.

These white-sand beaches, along with the region’s subtropical rainforests and vast national parks, are bringing more and more visitors to southeast Queensland. The first question on many of their lips — where’s the best bar?

It’s a great question, and we’ve got the answer. Below, you’ll find four top-notch bars on the Sunshine Coast to enjoy a Jim Beam (however you like it) this summer. We’re willing to bet that you and your mates will love every moment at these beachside spots.

Surfair Beach Hotel

Just a stone’s throw from Sunshine Coast Airport, the Surfair Beach Hotel is a classic beach pub boasting a bistro that deserves – in our humble (and hungry) opinion – a Michelin star and more. We’re talking juicy schnitties, fresh calamari, steak specials and plenty of pizzas to keep the whole crew happy.

Given its proximity to the airport, the Surfair Beach Hotel is a great place to either kick off or wrap up your time on the Sunshine Coast. Dig in with views over Marcoola Beach and the Coral Sea, and don’t forget to toast Australia’s epic east coast with a can of Jim Beam & Cola in hand.

Coolum Beach Hotel

The Coolum Beach Hotel, which enjoyed a fresh facelift back in 2016, has long been a hub for locals and visitors alike. Located right across the road from Coolum Beach, this laidback pub delivers good times by the bucketload whether you prefer your ice cold beverages indoors with the cricket or kicking back in the beer garden with a cooling breeze blowing in from the ocean.

Keep an eye on the Coolum Beach Hotel’s upcoming events and be sure to drop in for one of the legendary Sunday Sessions – the perfect way to wave goodbye to the weekend.

Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club

It doesn’t get much more iconic than Noosa Heads SLC. Boasting the best views in Noosa, the Surf Lifesaving Club brings big vibes to the beach seven days a week courtesy of its fresh seafood, live music and cold drinks.

The people-watching here is next level, so grab your mates, pull up a couple of chairs, shout the first round of Jim Beam & Colas and let the summer sun wash over you. Be warned, though – once you’ve passed an afternoon at the club, you won’t want to hang out anywhere else.

The Surf Club Mooloolaba

Often touted as one of the best beaches in the South Pacific, Mooloolaba is a summer paradise and The Surf Club is its spiritual centre. Though the venue remains popular throughout the year thanks to that legendary Queensland weather, the summertime sees The Surf Club welcoming everyone from backpackers and brides to families and retirees.

Fortunately, there are a number of bars and restaurants to choose from within the club, so you shouldn’t struggle to find a table with a view. Our favourite spot is the outdoor deck. There’s live music every Sunday, so don’t be scared to pop down on a sunny afternoon and crack an ice-cold can with mates.

Sunshine, good times and your favourite summer refreshment – an unbeatable combination, isn’t it? And even if the beachside bars above are heaving, you’re sure to find plenty of other spots on the Sunny Coast where you and your mates will be a smile away from a Jim Beam.
