A wedding DJ has shared the ‘do not play’ songs a couple of newlyweds requested for their big night, and it’s fair to say it’s firmly divided opinions.

Naturally with it being one of the most important days of their lives, many couples set to the knot will meticulously plan every part of their nuptials down to the smallest details - such as what songs they really don’t want to hear.

Matt ‘Rybar’ Hribar - or @hribstar as he’s known on TikTok - shared the songs one particular couple banned from their big day - but not everyone agrees.

The list of banned songs kicks off with 'Single Ladies' by Beyoncé - a song which Matt says is fairly commonly blacklisted from wedding days, as it’s ‘overplayed’ and is used a lot during the bouquet, so it stands to reason some couples wouldn’t fancy it on their special day.

Matt continues: “Number two: no 'Uptown Funk' by Bruno Mars. We’ve seen that before.

“No 'Happy' by Pharell. Agree.”

But here the list of ‘songs’ casts its net wider as the fourth bullet point forbids any songs by One Direction, Justin Bieber or Bruno Mars. This couple really don’t like Mr Mars, do they?

Matt goes on: “I think what these three have is ‘popular male, pop vocalist’ - so you know - that just isn’t the vibe for them.”

But then we get to the fifth bullet point and it’s sure to put the cat amongst the pigeons, or the cat amongst the Beyhive - as Beyoncé is also banned from their wedding playlist.

Yep, it’s not just 'Single Ladies' the couple don’t want to hear on their wedding, but anything by the multi-award-winning singer.

“That is really interesting,” Matt notes as he rounds up the list.

And it seems that plenty of folks agree with one TikTok user commenting: “First of all, I can understand Beyoncé and Bruno Mars, but One Direction? That’s a crime.”

Another wrote: “When clients say no Beyoncé it is an immediate [red flag].”

Matt also shared the couple’s ‘must play’ list.

A third asked: "No Beyoncé and Bruno Mars? Do they hate fun?"

Someone else joked: “clearly if you dance at this wedding you get thrown out.”

However, others thought the no play list was pretty solid and some people even said their own lists were similar.

Oh and if you’re wondering what the couple's ‘must play’ list - then you’re in luck as Matt also shared that and it included 'Bad Habits' by Ed Sheeran, 'Hung Up' by Madonna, Eminems’ 'Without Me' and 'Shake That' and 'Turn Me On' by David Guetta.

The couple also insisted on 'Down' by Jay Sean, 'Because the Night' by Cascada and 'Kiss Kiss' by Chris Brown.
