Trump's 'Impenetrable' Border Wall Beached Thousands Of Times, New Report Says

Explosive new documents show that Trump's beloved border wall was breached with common power tools.

Donald Trump's 'virtually impenetrable' wall that straddles the border between the US and Mexico has been breached thousands of times recently.

Unpublished records obtained by the Washington Post detailed how the wall had been breached a total of 3,272 times over the past three years, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) maintenance records.

The U.S government spent a whopping $2.6 million on repairs to patch up the breaches in the 2019 to 2021 fiscal years, the CBP records show.

US Customs and Border Protection had previously acknowledged that smugglers were able to hack their way through the barriers built by the Trump administration.

But the records - obtained by the Freedom of Information Act - shows that the damage is far more significant than previously known.

The damage also points to the ineffectuality of Trump's border wall from actually preventing illegal crossings.

Over 800 kilometres of wall was constructed by Trump's administration from 2019, mostly in rural New Mexico and Arizona.

Although the former US president claimed his 'big, beautiful wall' was the 'Rolls-Royce' of barriers, smugglers only needed power tools found at a standard hardware store to break through the structure.

According to The Washington Post, one 40-kilometre stretch of wall had 71 bollards with visible repairs and welds.

CBP spokesman Luis Miranda said effective border security 'requires a variety of resources and efforts, infrastructure, technology, and personnel'.

“No structure is impenetrable, so we will continue to work to focus resources on modern, effective border management measures to improve safety and security,” he said in a statement.

The findings are the latest embarrassment for Donald Trump's crowning glory, with sections of the wall washed away by floods that ripped through southern Arizona last year.

Severe rain had battered parts of the state and it wreaked havoc on the US-Mexico border wall.

Photos posted on social media showed monsoonal rains 'literally blew floodgates off their hinges', according to Gizmodo.

When announcing his plan to construct a massive wall along the US-Mexico border in 2015, Trump told his followers: "I will build a great wall-and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me-and I'll build them very inexpensively.
