Depraved killer Luka Magnotta is married to a fellow murderer, after meeting them online.

The 37-year-old came to notoriety in 2010, after sharing videos of himself killing small kittens, which sparked an international manhunt and has since been turned into a documentary, entitled Don't F*** With Cats, which is currently airing on Netflix.

But he didn't stop at animals. In 2014, he was arrested for the murder of Chinese international student Jun Lin, and sentenced to life in Port-Cartier Prison, Quebec.

More than five years on from his arrest, Magnotta is married to convicted killer Anthony Jolin, who he met on Canadian Inmates Connect, a inmate dating website.

Informing the site's administrators of his newfound love back in 2015, Magnotta sent an email, writing: "Thank you for your service. I found what I was looking for."

Jolin is also serving a life sentence after stabbing a fellow inmate to death, while serving time for a separate offence.

They married in 2017, with Magnotta's mother Anna Yourkin serving as a witness at the ceremony. According to the National Post, Yourkin said she was still 'proud to be his mother' and that he was 'not a monster'.

Despite being married, Magnotta and Jolin are not allowed to spend any time alone together.

At the time of their marriage, Daniel Benson, a social integration worker at Pont-Cartier Penitentiary told TVA Nouvelles: "I do not want to make any value judgement on Mr. Magnotta, but with the offence he committed... leaving that person alone with his spouse unattended for two to three days, I have a certain [unease]."

The three-part documentary follows the online manhunt for Magnotta following the outrage over his first video, title '1 boy 2 kittens'.

Deanna Thompson - who uses the online alias Baudi Moovan - was part of an online community which attempted to track down Magnotta after the dark videos of animal torture were shared online. In the first episode of the docu-series, she breaks down in tears while describing what happens in the first video as edited clips are shown on screen.

As the network of animal lovers attempts to bring Magnotta to justice, he posts more videos of animal abuse, before posting a film of himself murdering Jun Lin, whose body he dismembered and then sent to the headquarters of political parties in Canada.

While the gripping documentary has received rave reviews since it aired last month, it has also left viewers with plenty of questions as well.
