Chicken Shop Date, the smash hit YouTube series, is coming to an end.
Taking to social media on Thursday, September 3, it's founder and host for 12 years, Amelia Dimoldenberg, announced the shocking news that she is bringing her highly popular show to a close.
"Chicken Shop Date will be a part of me forever, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one," Dimoldenberg posted.
However, there will be more episodes released before the deep fat friers are turned off for good.

She continued: "But before I say goodbye, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates… coming very soon x"
The post was accompanied by a lengthier statement, in which Dimoldenberg spoke of how much the series has meant to her.

"When I was 17 I had a fantastic idea that I might meet the love of my life in a chicken shop," she wrote.
"I have spent my entire twenties sat across from the most incredible people, people I’d always dreamt of meeting. All of them have charmed me (some more than others) and I have definitely charmed them."
The Chicken Shop Date playlist on Dimoldenberg's YouTube channel has 112 videos, and has generated millions upon millions of views.
Some of the most viewed episodes includes guests like Aitch, Billie Eilish, Louis Theroux, Sabrina Carpenter and, perhaps most iconically, Andrew Garfield.
Dimoldenberg continued: "To me the show is my very own romcom and I have loved creating so many stories for you to watch.
"I am so grateful to everyone who has followed me on this journey and found some joy in these episodes."

Though she thought Chicken Shop Date may go on forever, Dimoldenberg has decided to end the series that began in 2014 to turn her attention to new ventures.
She added: "I never thought I’d stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be part of me forever, and in some way it always will be, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.
"But before I say goodbye forever, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates. Coming very soon…..
"Love, Amelia xx"
She had teased the announcement a day earlier with a short video in which she sat down in the now iconic chicken shop before saying: "I think we need to talk."
Fans react to the end of Chicken Shop Date
Fans of Dimoldenberg and Chicken Shop Date soon flooded the 32-year-old's replies to share their heartbreak that the series is now in its dying embers.
"Is this the GenZ equivalent of Ricky Gervais ending the Office after 2 seasons?" one user on X asked, while another added: "Truly the end of times."
While others were also gutted, they made it clear they're excited to see what Dimoldenberg has up her sleeve in her next project.
One said: "OMG IM SO SAD, but excited to see what you do next!!!" and another added: "This is devastating but excited to see what you do next."
