Worrying footage shows moment 'idiot teens' riding e-scooters on the pavement get 'instant karma'

Richard Garbas said 'sod' the e-scooter drivers who crashed in Luton

Fancy a laugh? Here’s a video of e-scooter daredevils hitting the pavement in a shocking incident.

There’s nothing like seeing instant karma at work, particularly when it comes to ‘idiot’ people doing silly things.

There was a whole issue a couple of years ago when it came to the rise in popularity of e-scooters, with just about everyone purchasing that, or hoverboards and generally taking up paths with their big selves.

So, when two lads decided to ride their scooters, one man decided to film them, and he was in for a surprise ending. Of course, we all know the basic rules when it comes to riding anything: helmets on and protect your bare skin.

However, it appears that these boys didn’t think of this, as when Richard Garbas from Luton spotted them, they were sans helmet.

The 44-year-old’s dashcam picked up the whole incident, which saw both boys collide with one another as they rode toward one another.

Not only did they hit eachother, but they went face-into-face, making for a sickening collision.

Due to the sheer force of the hit, both were thrown to the pavement as Richard and his with Anthea gasped and shouted, ‘wow’ from their car.

While the dad-of-two decided not to check on the pair because he thought, 'sod them - it's their fault', he revealed that the pair got up and shook hands afterwards.

Shockingly, Richard admitted that 'a side of him hoped they hit each other' and when they did, he found it funny because of their 'idiotic' antics.

Richard said: "It was idiotic driving. I found it funny at the time.

"We saw the guy in the grey tracksuit coming towards us and as we got closer to the junction we saw this lad coming down the road. We both thought 'oh my god'.

"As they come around there's a side of you that hopes they miss each other and then there's a side of you that hopes they hit each other.

"When you can get them to go 15mph, the speed of the two hitting each other is a 30mph crash. It's like driving into a wall.”

However, he does hope that the crash came as a lesson for the pair and wanted to share the clip to help parents to understand that e-scooters can be dangerous modes of transport.

Sadly, they have even caused deaths when ridden by people under the influence.

Afterall, he once fell off a rented e-scooter in Oxford in 2023 and refuses to get on one again.

It left him banged up and scraped all over his face.

Richard noted: "They were going too fast for the situation because when you're going up to a corner you should be a little cautious of what's coming up.

"This is more a message to parents. Do they know what their kids are doing and do they know how dangerous [electric scooters] can be?

"Young kids just think the world is a free place, which is amazing, but at the same time they need to be aware."

The clip, which he posted to Facebook, received more than 140,000 views because of the shocking collision.

One commented: "That could have easily been a child in a buggy."

A second said: "Yep or a small child walking, our an elderly person, could have easily been a fatal impact."

A third said: "But it wasn't, so it's funny!"

A fifth said: "Serves them right, that's why we all have lessons and take a test... numpties."

One even said: "Shouldn't be using a scooter on the footpath, and the other idiot who was originally on the road didn't have a crash helmet on. Shame they didn't seem to be seriously injured."
