Man arrested in Greece after British woman Elizabeth Jane Ross found dead in suitcase
A man has been arrested following the death of a British woman whose body was tragically discovered in a suitcase in Greece.
Elisabeth Jane-Ross was found stuffed in a suitcase in an abandoned Athens building by a homeless man last week, sparking a huge police investigation.
Earlier this week, a source suggested to The Sun that 'the best trained officers in the Greek FBI' were working around-the-clock and that it was only a matter of time before the suspect was found.
And now that has come to fruition, after Greek police confirmed that a 26-year-old man, described as a foreign national, had been arrested for manslaughter and robbery.

“The involvement of the 26-year-old foreigner has been verified through material from the preliminary investigation and digital analysis of video footage,” the Hellenic Police said in an announcement.
A report from the Greek Reporter claims that he was brought into the police station earlier this week and eventually confessed to his actions.
Police have suggested that the man may have used Elisabeth's bank cards to withdraw money, after she was seen befriending and helping out homeless people across Athens.
Elisabeth was described as a committed Christian who has been visiting Greece for oven seven years now, and police have previously speculated that she might have been killed by someone she was trying to help.
Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou previously told The Sun: “The key to this case is to find out what happened to the woman during those three days as we don’t know anything about her moves on the 15th, 16th and 17th.
“The main focus is to find her cause of death as the medical examiner did not find any signs of struggle or injury on her body.
“We are waiting for the toxicology reports to shed some light in the next few days.”
Dimoglidou went on to say that ‘we cannot be talking about a murder if we don’t know what happened to her’.
“Maybe she died and someone tried to hide her body, anything is possible and at this point it’s too soon to tell,” she continued.
“As part of the investigation we are also checking CCTV from the area where she was found and we are working to trace her phone.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland added to the BBC: “We are aware of the death of Scottish woman in Athens and are liaising with authorities in Greece. Officers are providing support to her family in Scotland.”
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said in a statement: “Our thoughts are with Elizabeth's family during this difficult time. We are providing consular support and are in contact with the local authorities.”
