Martin Lewis has addressed a huge error which customers of Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland have noticed this morning (12 March).

The MoneySavingExpert went online to weigh in on an issue which many Brits have woken up to, which involves seeing other people's transactions on their online banking apps.

Many have taken to social media, prompting responses from some of the banks whose apps have seemed to experience a 'technical glitch'.

One Halifax customer complained their mobile banking app 'appears to be showing me transactions belonging to different people every time I log in and out'.

Another customer said: "Four times I have logged out and back in again and I am getting different people’s transactions each time. This is not acceptable!!!"

DownDetector, a website which monitors outages of internet providers and online services, had reported numerous issues from Halifax and Lloyds customers today.

Lewis has claimed that customers have also reached out to him for advice on the situation and has urged users to tell him more.

Taking to X, he wrote: "Do you use the Lloyds, Bank of Scotland or Halifax apps? People have been messsaging me this morning of being shown other peoples transactions.

"I want to see how widespread this is. Has it happened to you. If so:

"a) What are you seeing? Which app.

"b) If it is someone else's transactions does it give any of their details too (name, account number etc)?"

Halifax has acknowledged the issue, with their X account replying to a customer complaint saying: "We are currently investigating the issue, and it may be the result of a technical glitch.

"In the meantime, please try logging out and logging back in and this should resolve the problem.

"Rest assured, your account remains completely safe with us."

Lloyds followed suit, saying: "We are now aware some customers are having issues with viewing transactions & balances right now.

"Bear with us as we fix this. If you'd like to make a complaint, you'll find the ways in which you can make a complaint here," adding a link for customer feedback.

In a similar message to Halifax, Lloyds said to another concerned user that they are 'currently investigating' the problem, again citing the probability 'of a technical glitch'.

They told customers to log out and log back in, in an attempt to rectify the issue and assured them their accounts are safe.

Bank of Scotland also told customers: "We are now aware some customers are having issues with viewing transactions & balances right now. Bear with us as we fix this."

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said in a statement to LADbible: "We’re sorry that some customers experienced an issue viewing transactions in the app for a short time this morning.

"The issue was quickly resolved and we’re looking into what happened."
