McDonald's has just added eight new items to its menu

McDonald’s new festive menu has officially landed with some new additions and the return of the Chicken Big Mac. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.

Although 25 December is still a while off - 33 days for those who are counting - fast-food outlets are already flogging their festive offerings.

And the latest to step into Christmas is McDonald’s, which has launched a brand-new burger for the occasion.

The new The Big & Cheesy (£5.49 alone or £7.29 as a meal) has a 100 percent beef patty topped with two slices of cheese, red onions and crispy onions as well as, and get ready for this, cheese sauce. It’s what Santa would want for us all.

Although it may not sound particularly Christmassy, the burger comes in a toasted snowflake flour dusted bun. Festive AF.

If you really want to go all-out, McDonald’s is also doing a Big & Cheesy with Bacon (£6.29 alone or £8.09 as a meal), truly all ‘the trimmings’.

But if this doesn’t float your boat - or sleigh - then how about the return of the much loved Chicken Big Mac (£4.79 alone or £6.59 as a meal)?

As the name suggests, it’s a chicken-based version of the McDonald’s staple, featuring two chicken patties in the triple layered bun along with a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles and - of course - that iconic Big Mac sauce.

Another returning item is gooey Camembert Cheese Melt Dippers (£2.59 and £6.89 in share box size), which come with a tangy tomato sauce for dipping.

If you’re really hungry, or you’re in the generous mood and fancy sharing, you can snap up McDonald’s Chicken Combo (£14.99), which includes 10 Chicken Selects and a 20 Chicken McNuggets Sharebox, alongside four Selects dips and four standard dips.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Christmas menu without some sweet treats, and this year, McDonald’s is launching a Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry of ice cream with Galaxy Chocolate stars and chocolate sauce.

There’s also the Galaxy Caramel version (both £1.49 in mini and £1.99 in regular sizes).

And if that isn’t quite enough sugar for you, Maccies is also launching a brand-new pie: Galaxy Caramel Pie (£1.99), which sees the classic molten apple filling swapped out with a crispy chocolate pastry filled with a Galaxy Caramel sauce. Sign me up.

The McDonald’s festive menu launches today (22 November) at 11am across the UK and Ireland.
