An urgent hunt has been launched to help find a woman who’s been missing a whole month after moving to the UK.

The woman, Inesha - whose surname hasn't been supplied by police - was staying at a house in Stow-on-the-Wold and was last seen at that particular location last month (16 August).

Since then, 'no one has heard from Inesha', leading Gloucestershire Police to issue an appeal to the public for any help or information concerning her whereabouts.

Inesha was last seen in Stow-on-the-Wold on Wednesday 16 August.

Gloustershire Police have released an official statement on the matter over the weekend (16 September).

It reads: "Police are growing concerned for the welfare of a woman who went missing from Stow-on-the-Wold in August.

"Inesha, 39, was staying at a house in Copperbeech, Park Street, Stow-on-the-Wold and was last seen one month ago today at the address, at around 5pm on Wednesday 16 August."

The statement went on to describe Inesha, who is originally from Sri Lanka, as being '5ft 6in in height and of a small build, with long, black curly hair'.

"While a note was found saying she had left," the appeal continues, "concern has grown as no one has heard from Inesha since."

Inesha was reported to have 'very few friends or contacts' in the UK given that she is a 'resident of Dubai' and had only been in the country for 'a few weeks'.

The statement went on: "Officers are keen to hear from anyone who has seen her or has information about her whereabouts.

"If you have seen Inesha, you can provide information to police by calling 101 and quoting incident 109 of 17 August. If you have recently seen her or can see her at the time of calling dial 999 and ask for police."

Gloucestershire Constabulary also took to their official X, formerly Twitter, account to share Inesha's picture too.
