King Charles and Prince William agree on one thing about Meghan and Harry, royal expert claims
Harry and Meghan appear to be back in the UK for good but it seems as if both his brother and his father are in agreement about one thing regarding his return.
After several years living in the US, where Harry said goodbye to his royal duties and title, and filmed a significant Netflix documentary and interview with Oprah Winfrey, he and the much-maligned Meghan made their comeback earlier this month.
One thing that the British public have been left asking is exactly how things might change, and if the Prince might pick up some more royal duties despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously dropping their HRH (His/Her royal highness) status.
King Charles addressed these rumours with a public letter, in which he confirmed that Harry and Meghan wouldn't be resuming any royal duties and they've instead got to live (almost) like the rest of us as private citizens.

The letter says: "Following the decision by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relocate to the UK, we have received a number of requests for guidance. To help avoid doubt or confusion, The King has directed that the following information be shared.
“It is well known that in January 2020 the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of The Sovereign, and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family.
“This position, distinct from the State and Royal duties undertaken by the working Royal Family, and with the personal latitude it brings the couple in respect of financial independence and protection of their privacy as they would wish, will continue to be fully respected.
"It follows that there is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Their styles as His and Her Royal Highness remain in abeyance and are not used.
“The charitable work of the Duke and Duchess is a personal matter for them both and undertaken in their private capacity.
“In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.”
According to a new royal expert, who spoke to People, Prince William is very much on board with the decision regarding his younger brother.
“The King and William are completely united on the Sussexes not representing the royal family,” says royal author Russell Myers. “It’s without a doubt how in sync they are on this matter.”
He added: “William’s view is clear — any relationship his father has with Harry or the Sussexes as a family is entirely up to him. But looking toward the future, he will have no relationship with them, in a working or private capacity whatsoever.”
Fellow royal author Simon Vigar suggested that William and Kate Middleton meanwhile are adopting the classic British attitude of 'keep calm and carry on'.
I wonder if they can pull out any old mugs or t-shirts from when that phrase was everywhere about 15 years ago.
William and Charles aren't the only ones to have their say on Harry and Meghan's return, and they certainly won't be the last, with SNL UK also poking fun at their comeback in the first episode of their recently released second season.
Vigar remains hopeful that Harry and William could still reconcile, especially with next year marking 30 years since their mother's tragic death.
He said: “Diana would have hated all this and would have banged their heads together and wouldn’t have allowed [the rift] to happen."
