Woman reveals horrific injuries after beloved dog of 11 years bites her nose off in ‘unprovoked attack’

The dog mum was mortified at what happened when she went down to give her pet dog a kiss

A dog mum has shared the chilling encounter she had with one of her own in a brutal attack.

Shayna Crimo - like many of us - is a dog lover and helped to raise two of her own pooches, but was recently left screaming for her partner to call 911 after trying to kiss one of them.

She had just got home from an art class to her dogs, King and Krieo.

Sadly, Krieo was recently diagnosed with cancer, which developed quickly - and Shayna believes this contributed to King's unusual behaviour.

The Reno-based 31-year-old, who has tattoos of both of her dogs' names on her arm, admitted that she's in denial for her mental health at the moment.

Having raised King for 11 years since he was a puppy, the unprovoked attack took place after she went down to give him a kiss.

The American claimed that he doesn't have a history of being violent, and has never been aggressive, but he bit her.

She recalled: "As soon as I went to give him a hug and a kiss, he bit me immediately. There was no growl, there was no warning, he didn't back up, he didn't make any noises, nothing. It happened so fast.

"I remember the sensation of being shook, which was horrible, and then I ran into the bathroom, saw what I looked like, screamed bloody murder for (her partner) to call 911."

Shayna added that King does not 'like to be messed with' at night, something she has kept in mind while raising him, highlighting that nothing like this has ever happened.

There were no 'warning signs'.

Now, Shayna is missing most of her nose and needs forehead flap surgeries to reconstruct her face, though this all happened just days before Krieo, her 13-year-old dog, was meant to be put down following his cancer diagnosis.

She suggested that this may be a reason for King acting out.

She explained: "These dogs literally grew up with me. I've had them for over a decade... they are my children essentially. Do I want to put King down? Absolutely f*****g not."

"I would rather stay home for the remainder of his life and never go anywhere, never have to have babysitters, and just be extra careful, but that's not an option."

Just two days after her first surgery, Krieo was sadly put down and while she is still living with King, she continues to weigh up the dilemma of whether or not to let him go after going through the traumatic event.

Shayna has set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for the numerous surgeries she will need to undergo, which you can donate to here.
