A woman fell out of a moving car and landed onto the motorway while filming a video for Snapchat, police have said.

The passenger had been 'hanging out the car' while it was travelling down the M25, when she fell out somewhere between junction six and the Clacket Lane Services.

Miraculously, she wasn't seriously injured in the incident, which took place at around 1.30am on Saturday 19 September. She was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Sharing the bizarre story on Twitter, Surrey Police said: "The front seat passenger was hanging out the car whilst filming a Snapchat video along the #M25.

"She then fell out the car and into a live lane.

"It is only by luck she wasn't seriously injured or killed. #nowords."

The unnamed Snapchatter was quickly slammed by social media users with one branding her actions 'absolutely thoughtless' and others accusing her of wasting the time of emergency responders.

Some even called for charges to be brought against the woman.

One person wrote: "The worst thing about this is that had she been hit, the poor driver who hit her would have to live with that for the rest of their life.

"No one expects to be dodging human bodies on a motorway and an emergency stop may have caused a serious pile up and further loss of life."

Another added: "This individual should be named and shamed and made to pay the bills for the emergency services' efforts.

"The driver also needs naming and shaming and they should be disqualified."

While a third wrote: "I hope there is a good fine added to the cost of police and ambulance, plus points for the driver."

Surrey Police said no arrests have been made.

In a statement to The Mirror, the force said: "Officers were called to the M25 between junction six and Clacket Lane Services shortly after 1.30am this morning following reports of a female falling out of a moving vehicle.

"The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and her injuries were not life-threatening or life changing. No arrests have been made."
