Trump’s granddaughter, Kai, faced backlash for ‘out of touch’ video before ‘delusional’ dream job admission

US President Donald Trump's granddaughter, Kai Trump has faced backlash over an 'out of touch' video about shopping in an expensive grocery store.

In a clip shared on YouTube a few weeks ago, Kai documented visiting an expensive grocery store, Erewhon, with her Secret Service agent.

Kai could be seen buying luxe items, such as an infamous smoothie, luxury salad bar and sushi, with the grocery bag totalling over $200 (£150).

The luxury chain focuses on organic and local foods, with 11 locations across Los Angeles.

"If you guys don't know Erewhon, Erewhon is the most expensive grocery store pretty much out there," said Kai.

"So we're going to get my favourite stuff, even supplements, whatever it may be and then go home and try it out... I'm gonna need to file for bankruptcy…everything's super expensive."

People were not impressed with the video - titled 'I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon' - with viewers calling Kai 'out of touch'. One wrote: "Kai read the damn room."

While another added: "Title might be the most tone deaf thing I've ever read."

And a third said: "Probably one of the most out of touch video titles ever."

The 18-year-old recently took to Instagram to answer a series of questions about her career and future, but not everyone was impressed with her responses.

Answering an 'Ask Me Anything', Kai was questioned about what her dream job would be, responding: "My dream job is literally what I’m doing now.

"Playing golf, social media, entertaining, creating my own business. I think that’s my dream job. Travelling the world, meeting new people, is probably my dream job."

Followers were quick to troll Kai over the 'delusional' comment, with one person writing: "So basically unemployed wonderful dream."

Another said: "There was no job mentioned."

And a third added: "Serious question. Since you’re already doing what you love and you have plenty of money, what is the point of you going to University?"

However, many people were quick to defend Kai, with one adding: "Good job Kai. Managing your own business, brand, and profit is more than a job, but a responsibility for yourself and others."

While someone else commented: "I’m sorry but why do you guys hate on her and bash her about politics when she’s not even apart of it I don’t even like Trump but she has done nothing wrong."
